Stuck for social media post ideas? Read the following to get some new creativity (and engagement) in your work.
No matter how talented your team is, at some point it will find that the well is beginning to run dry as regards social media post ideas. That’s why it’s always a good idea to constantly be looking for new post ideas.
Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered. Check out the following ideas to help keep that post bank overflowing.
YouTube is always going to be the most impactful space for video content. But the relatively recent rise of YouTube Shorts has meant even more potential for brands that need to serve their audiences.
Creating a quick how-to video on YouTube Shorts for a product you sell is one of the best ways of making an immediate impact on your audience. It’s a fun space to be in, and if your video gains some traction, you can expect a huge boost in traffic.
It’s also a fantastic testing ground too. You can use the space to try out new ideas with your video content. If something doesn’t land, then you can try again with the flexibility and the speed that the platform offers. It allows for fantastic levels of experimentation and that makes it a place where you can make a real impact for a brand.
User generated content (UGC) is one of the very best ways to build and maintain a solid brand presence. There are many things that appeal to brands with UGC, not least the fact that it is low cost. Sure, you may spend money on creating a prize for your audience to win if they make a great video, but that will be a minimal expenditure.
So that’s great. But the real beauty of UGC is the long-term gain effect. If you develop a situation where UGC is consistently created and there is real engagement, you can expect to have a social media presence that becomes truly authentic. Having real people on your feed makes a huge difference.
Contests are good. Themed weeks are good. Anything that helps your audience feel involved and part of your community is good.
Some brands don’t really like content curation. Finding content that makes sense for your audience and then posting it feels a little old school.
But imagine finding content that really helps your audience. Imagine finding content that hasn’t been seen by too many people. That’s real content curation. That’s the kind of stuff that stops people from scrolling.
Start a real content curation strategy, one that identifies exactly what your audience needs to see and hear. Then stick to it, actively searching for content that says something new on the topic.
Do this in a purposeful way, with KPIs and a time-frame, and see what happens. You may find that it’s worth going back to curation after all.
These things never go away. Memes crop up every week, and they are great fun. If your brand has an audience that the latest meme will chime with, it may well be a good idea to get involved.
Obviously, pick memes that are related to what your brand does. Then, find memes that you can understand. This bit is important, because if you cannot see the universal appeal behind a meme then it’s probably not a good idea to use it on your audience.
Once you have one though, go to town with it. Post it, share it and ask your audience to get involved with their own thoughts. It’s rare for a well-chosen meme to fall flat. And it also shows that your brand has a sense of humor too. That’s relatable and authentic.
This final one is perhaps the simplest one to implement.
Your customers love you. So ask them questions and make them feel involved. You could even ask them what kind of content they like the most and use that feedback to create it.
You could seek their views on important industry announcements, or even feedback on your product or service. All of this makes for great user engagement, and shows that you care about what your customers think and feel.
While it may be tricky to find new post ideas, the above set of post options should add more to your list. Remember, with social media marketing the key is to work at it, and test the reactions of your audience. When it goes well, run with it.
