LOCOWISE is a trademark owned by Little Dot Studios Limited (LDS), with registered address Berkshire House, 168 - 173 High Holborn, London, England, WC1V 7AA.

We at LDS consider protecting the individual's privacy is crucial. We have created this privacy statement to demonstrate our firm commitment to the individual’s right to data protection and privacy and dealing with your personal data in a fair and transparent manner. It outlines how we handle information that can be used to directly or indirectly identify an individual (personal data).

This privacy statement applies to the collection and processing of personal data during the central operation of this website https://locowise.com.

This privacy statement does not apply to LDS internet-pages or web-services which present their own Privacy Statement.

2. Data Collection

For purposes of registration and administration of the services for which you subscribe, we collect identifiable information about you such as your name, workplace, position and contact information. We also may collect your IP address, device data, browser type, operating system type, domain name, access times and referring website address if you are enquiring about our products and services. We may also collect information about you in response to specific requests from you either through our website links or otherwise, for things such as signing up for an email newsletter, chat room, or other online information service we may offer, answering a survey, or contacting us. Surveys are conducted strictly for internal purposes and only keep track of anonymous demographic data (e.g., your age, usage of the LocoWise website).

From time to time, we may post on our website job openings at LocoWise and provide an email address to which interested applicants can submit their resume. Although we can assure you that any personal information contained in a resume will be used solely for its intended purpose (i.e., to evaluate the applicant's qualifications), such information is not subject to this privacy policy. We will only collect the information deemed reasonably necessary to fulfil your online requests, fulfilling our contractual obligations to you or our customer and our legitimate business objectives.

3. Data Location and Retention

Data Location: Your personal data is maintained, processes and stored by us and our authorised Service Providers (defined below) in the US and UK. We may also retain your personal data in other locations as reasonably necessary for the proper performance and delivery of our Services, or as may be required by law. LocoWise is headquartered in the UK and LocoWise is subject to the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018. Whilst privacy laws may vary between jurisdictions LocoWise and its Service Providers are each committed to protection personal data in accordance this with Privacy Policy and customary industry standards and appropriate lawful mechanisms and contractual terms requiring adequate data protection regardless of lesser legal requirements that may apply in their jurisdictions. For data transfers from the European Economic Area or the UK to countries that are not considered to be offering an adequate level of data protection, we and the relevant data exporter have entered into standard contractual clauses as approved by the UK.

Data Retention: We will retain your personal data for as long as it is reasonably necessary in order to establish, maintain and expand our relationship and provide you with our Services and offerings; in order to comply with our legal and contractual obligations; or to protect ourselves from any potential disputes all in accordance with our data retention policy and applicable laws. Except as required by applicable law we are not obligated to retain your personal data for any particular period and we are free to securely delete, anonymize or restrict access to it for any reason and at any time with or without notice to you.

Such service providers include hosting and server co-location services, communications, and content delivery networks (CDNs), data and cyber security services, billing and payment processing services, fraud detection and prevention services, web analytics, e-mail distribution, marketing and monitoring services, session or activity recording services, remote access services, performance measurement, data optimization and enrichment services, social and advertising networks, content providers, e-mail, voice-mails, support and customer relation management systems, and our legal, compliance and financial advisors (collectively, Service Providers). These Service Providers may have access to your personal data, depending on each of their specific roles and purposes in facilitating and enhancing our Service, and may only use it for such limited purposes as determined in our Agreements with them. When our Service Providers contact you in order to offer or promote our Service, they may additionally interest you in their own services. Should you decide to engage in such activities with LocoWise's Service Providers, please note that such engagement is beyond the scope of LocoWise’s Agreement and this Privacy Policy and will therefore be covered by our Service Provider’s terms and privacy policy. In the context of this Privacy Policy, i.e., with regard to LocoWise's processing of personal data relating to users and customers shall be deemed as Data Processors as defined by the Data Protection Act 2018.

Sharing your Feedback or Recommendations: If you submit a public review or feedback, note that we may (at our discretion) store and present your review to visitors of our site and Services (including other customers). Protecting Rights and Safety: We may share your personal data with others if we believe in good faith that this will help protect the rights, property or personal safety of LocoWise, any of our users or customers, or any members of the general public.

LocoWise Affiliated Companies: We may share personal data internally within our group, for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy. In addition, should LocoWise or any of its subsidiaries or affiliates undergo any change in control or ownership, including by means of merger, acquisition or purchase of any of its assets, your personal data may be shared with the parties involved in such an event. If we believe that such change in control might materially affect your personal data then stored with us, we will notify you of this event and the choices you may have via e-mail or prominent notice on our Services. For the avoidance of doubt, LocoWise may share your personal data in additional manners, pursuant to your explicit approval, or if we are legally obligated to do so, or if we have successfully rendered such data non-personal and anonymous.

You can control your communications and notifications settings from your User Profile settings. However, please note that you will not be able to opt-out of receiving certain service communications which are integral to your use (like password resets or billing notices).

Promotional Communications: We may also notify you about new features, additional offerings, events and special opportunities or any other information we think our Users will find valuable. We may provide such notices through any of the contact means available to us (e.g. phone, mobile or e-mail), through the Service, or through our marketing campaigns on any other sites or platforms. If you do not wish to receive such promotional communications, you may notify LocoWise at notices@littledotstudios.com, changing your communications preferences in your User Profile settings, or by following the “unsubscribe”, “stop”, “opt-out” or “change e-mail preferences” instructions contained in the promotional communications you receive.

7. Data Security

In order to protect your Personal Data held with us, we are using industry-standard physical, procedural and technical security measures, including encryption as appropriate. However, please be aware that regardless of any security measures used, we cannot and do not guarantee the absolute protection and security of any Personal Data stored with us or with any third parties as described in clause 4 above.

8. Data Subject Rights

If you wish to exercise your rights under laws applicable to you, including the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), such as the right to request access to, and rectification or erasure of your personal data held with LocoWise, and the right to object at any time to processing of personal data concerning you which is based on our legitimate interests as detailed in clause 2 above (each to the extent available to you under the laws which apply to you) – please contact us by e-mail at notices@littledotstudios.com.

Please note that once you contact us by e-mail, we may require additional information and documents, including certain personal data, in order to authenticate and validate your identity and to process your request. Such additional data will be then retained by us for legal purposes (e.g., as proof of the identity of the person submitting the request), in accordance with clause 3 above.

9. Data Controller/Processor

Certain data protection laws and regulations, such as the GDPR or the CCPA, typically distinguish between two main roles for parties processing personal data: the “data controller”, who determines the purposes and means of processing; and the “data processor”, who processes the data on behalf of the data controller. Below we explain how these roles apply to our Services, to the extent that such laws and regulations apply.

LocoWise is the “data controller” of personal data relating to its visitors. With respect to such data, we assume the responsibilities of data controller (solely to the extent applicable under the law), as set forth in this Privacy Policy. In such instances, our Service Providers processing such data will assume the role of “data processor”. In respect of provision of the services to you and our customers LocoWise is a “processor” and its Service Providers are “sub-processors” as those terms are defined in the UK GDPR.

10. Additional Notices

Updates and Amendments: We may update and amend this Privacy Policy from time to time by posting an amended version on our Service. The amended version will be effective as of the date it is published. When we make material changes to this Privacy Policy which in our discretion may affect your personal data, we’ll provide you with notice as appropriate under the circumstances. Your continued use of the Service after the changes have been implemented will constitute your acceptance of the changes.

External Links: While our Services may contain links to other websites or services, we are not responsible for their privacy practices. We encourage you to pay attention when you leave our Services for the website or application of such third parties, and to read the privacy policies of each and every website and service you visit. This Privacy Policy applies only to our Services.

Our Services are not designed to attract children who are minors: We do not knowingly collect personal data from children and do not wish to do so. If we learn that a person who is to be considered as a minor according to the law applicable to him is using the Services, we will attempt to prohibit and block such use and will make efforts to promptly delete any personal data stored with us with regard to such minor.
