Elon Musk is now the largest shareholder of Twitter and sits on the board as a Class ll director. Shortly after the purchase of a 9.2% stake, for $2.89 billion, shares jumped by 27%.
Following the announcement, Chief executive of Twitter, Parag Agrawal, said:
Just last month, Musk asked his followers whether Twitter adheres to free speech, with 70% voting no. Elon has highlighted he is excited to make significant improvements to Twitter in the coming weeks. And since the announcement, Musk has asked if users would like an edit button – to date, over 73% of users responded confirming they would.
