One thing that rings true about social media is the concept of saturation. If you sat down and worked out just how many different platforms there were, you’d probably get a headache.
If you take the major platforms and just those alone, it isn’t too bad. Then you start seeing the spinoffs, the satellite platforms, and the fun channels. That’s when you are veering dangerously close to that horrible place where you simply can’t deliver on all fronts.
It’s actually easy to be on every platform. That’s not the problem. The real head scratcher comes in when you start thinking about how each individual platform works. If you could create content that was perfect for the platform you are on, your reach and engagement would be much higher.
