Snapchat Shared Stories

Snapchat has launched a ‘Shared Stories’ option to allow users to create a story and then invite others to contribute to it.  

On the decision to launch Shared Stories, Snap explains: “We’re introducing Shared Stories, a new way for Snapchatters to build community around the content they love to Snap. Shared Stories is a new iteration of Custom Stories, a product that previously allowed Snapchatters to create a Story and add friends to view and contribute.”

Some key points about Shared Stories:

• Users can choose who is allowed to share content to the story, which will then be viewable by followers of both the original user and those who are contributing. 

• Like all Stories, content within a Shared Story will be deleted within 24 hours.

• There is no chat function within a Shared Story.
• Users will be notified if they are added to a Shared Story with someone they have blocked, so they can choose to leave if they wish.
